Saturday breakfast:
I love lavender shortbread - so I figured I might as well throw some lavender in my Saturday waffles and see what happens.
Lavender Waffles with Blueberry Honey Butter:
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups lukewarm milk (I used a milk and greek yogurt mixture)
- 1/3 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon of dried food-grade lavender
- 10-15 chocolate chips per waffle (if you like chocolate with your lavender!)
Blueberry-honey butter:
Mix equal parts raw honey, butter and blueberry preserves
Enjoy with strong coffee and NPR on the side for an insightful breakfast!
Happy Saturday!

A tisket-a TASSEL.
Gotta love a good tassel. Karl loves 'em, the Scottishmen love 'em - heck, even God does*:
"Tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined, and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God. "Numbers 15:38-40 (NKJ).
Have a tasselriffic weekend!!! (tasselriffic - wtf!?! LOL)

Treasure hunting on Etsy!
In a pursuit to find affordable [wall] art on Etsy, I got a smidge distracted by cutting boards, air plants and more!
So here are some cool etsy finds, including some pretty paintings.
